Hanging Basket Watering Team

Each May, volunteers install thirty hanging baskets along the lamp posts in Eastham Village centre, transforming the streetscape for the summer season.

The baskets soften the historic setting and contribute significantly to the charm of the Conservation Area. However, seasonal planting depends upon regular watering and feeding to remain healthy and attractive throughout the warmer months.

Volunteers work to a simple rota, using wheeled water bowsers fitted with electric pumps to make the task straightforward and manageable.
