Torr Park in Spring

Eastham is fortunate to have a rich mix of parks, woodland and open spaces at the heart of village life. These include Torr Park, cared for by Wirral Council with support from the Friends of Torr Park, and St Mary’s Churchyard, which is largely maintained by our dedicated Graveyard Team.

Torr Park is home to village cricket, children’s play equipment, outdoor fitness facilities, tennis courts, and the remains of the former bowling green—something we hope to restore.

Beyond the village, Eastham Woods and the remains of the historic Eastham Pleasure Gardens offer a unique landscape, including surviving features such as old fountain remains and the famous bear pit, one of only two known to survive in the country. Nearby Eastham Ferry provides wonderful views across the Mersey, with welcoming pubs close by for refreshments.

The Churchyard is looked after by The Graveyard Team and Torr Park, including the Cricket Ground, by The Friends of Torr Park. Both groups welcome new volunteers.
