Planning & Tree Applications

Eastham is a designated Conservation Area, and the Council has a duty to preserve and enhance its special character. Much of the village also lies within the Green Belt, which brings additional planning controls designed to protect the landscape and prevent inappropriate development.
Trees are an important part of Eastham’s historic setting. Within the Conservation Area, trees are protected by law and permission is required before any work is carried out, including pruning, felling or major hedge work. These safeguards help ensure that changes to the village are properly considered and that the features which make Eastham distinctive are not lost.
EVPA is notified of relevant planning applications and tree work applications affecting the village. We will share details and updates here, so residents can stay informed and take part in the planning process where appropriate.
