Hooton Hall was the home of the Stanley family from the 14th century until 1849 when it was purchased by Richard Naylor who lived there until about 1890.   Naylor was a succesful racehorse owner and won the Derby inHooton Hall demolished in 1925 1863 with his horse, Macaroni.   He also owned Stockwell, the most successful sire of all time.
